The Couth Buzzard just sent out a note announcing that it will reopen in downtown Greenwood. The Couth Buzzard lost its lease a year ago. At the time, the Seattle Times book critic wrote, about Couth Buzzard:

it was the perfect bookstore for the Greenwood neighborhood, a place customer Lauralee Smith called “a refuge and an oasis.” But the Couth Buzzard threw its own goodbye party last weekend, having lost its lease with Ken’s, which needs the space to expand, joining a clutch of neighborhood independent bookstores in the Seattle area that have gone out of business this year.

The Couth Buzzard has teamed up with Espresso Buono Coffee and Cafe and will reopeon November 1 at 8310 Greenwood Ave North. They have a weekend celebration planned, and are asking for any ideas on how you would like the new Couth Buzzard to serve the community. Contact Penny Wight at penny(at)espressobuono(dot)com.

(Thanks to Chris Dusterhoff for the tip.)
