The store also host author signings nearly every week and have a large stock of signed firsts as well as a selection of collectibles. They have a quarterly newsletter which lists the new books coming in, features about authors and mystery books, 'favorite lists' and more. They are a member of the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association. This group is an advocate for independent mystery bookshops and mystery authors, both of which seem to be somewhat endangered. |
| Other Info | Anthony Flacco signs The Road Out of Hell: Sanford Clark and the True Story of the Wineville Murders (Union Square Press hc, $24.95). An account of the horrifying crimes Gordon Stuart Northcutt committed between 1926 and '28 in a little town outside of LA and how he forced his own teenaged nephew to undergo horrors short of death while the murders were going on. The book then details how Clark survived his ordeal and lead an honorable– though tortured – life as war hero and father. The cases tie into the events covered in the movie Changeling. |
